Sometimes the best of us find ourselves in need of a lawyer to address various criminal charges. The severity and punishment of crimes vary significantly from state to state. But for general guidance, there are three level of offenses:
These are the most serious crimes. A felony conviction can have many collateral consequences, such as impacting your right to vote, possess firearms, etc. Depending on the crime alleged, my fee initial fee is $2500-$5000.00. There is a huge variety of potential charges so the exact fee will be discussed at the time of the initial consultation.
These are criminal charges, that may or may not have a jail sentence imposed. Again, there is a huge variety of charges which can be brought. While they are generally less serious than a felony charge, there can still be collateral consequences, such impacting your right to possess a firearm, loss of driving privileges, etc. I charge a flat fee of $1000.00 for each misdemeanor charge. If you are charged with more than 1 charge at the same time, we can negotiate a flat fee.
These are generally non-criminal offenses. Most commonly violations are motor vehicle related, but there are others. I charge a fee of $500.00 for these types of charges. While most of these types of charges have only fines attached, there are other collateral consequences such as points on a license, loss of driving privileges, etc.
If the police ask you in for questioning, do not meet with them without an attorney present. I am happy to provide a consultation prior to any police questioning. You have the right to remain silent, exercise it unless you have an attorney present.
Finally, if you are not sure if you are facing a potential criminal offense, talk to me. It is better to be informed and understand your rights before it is too late.
